Chicago Crews Battle Apartment Building Fire

At 3:38 p.m. on Jan. 19, the Englewood Fire Alarm office dispatched a still alarm to 8034 S. Harvard. While units were responding, the assignment was upgraded to a working fire response.

Engine 122 called reported a working fire in an apartment building with heavy fire showing from all floors.

On arrival, Battalion 18 requested a box alarm due to the conditions present and updated the address to 324 West 80th Street.

An interior attack was utilized with a 1 3/4-inch handline through the front door and a 2 1/2-inch handline from the rear. Both ladder trucks placed their aerials to the roof for ventilation the roof.
