N.Y. Crews Battle Farmhouse Fire

Firefighters from as many as 10 companies responded to either fight or assist in a fire that occurred on Feb. 7 on Snyder Rd. in Lyndon, NY.

The two-story farmhouse was one of the oldest in the Town of Lyndon.

According to Sgt. Mark Crosson, from Cattaraugus County Fire Investigation team, firefighters from Lyndon, Franklinville, Ischua, Farmersville, Machias, Yorkshire, Hinsdale from Cattaraugus County as well as those from New Hudson and Cuba responded to the blaze.

Weston Mills Fire Dept. was on standby at Hinsdale, while an engine and tanker was on stanby for Lyndon and Farmersville at Franklinville's fire hall.

On Feb. 8, the fire rekindled and a call went out calling both Lyndon and Franklinville fire departments back to the scene.
