Quick Stop Made at Mo. House Fire

At 1:47 p.m. on Feb. 16, the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District Crews were dispatched to 110 Blue Haven Trail, Cape Fair for a reported structure fire with flames and smoke visible from a flue.

At 1:47 p.m. on Feb. 16, the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District Crews were dispatched to 110 Blue Haven Trail, Cape Fair for a reported structure fire with flames and smoke visible from a flue.

The first engine on the scene reported smoke and flames showing from the vents of the one-story home.

Crews made an aggressive interior attack and pulled the drywall ceiling to extinguish the source of the fire.

The homeowners were home and were alerted by the sound of smoke detectors.

The owner stated she was taking a nap while her son was playing video games. They both heard the smoke detectors and evacuated the structure.

Fire Marshal Mike Creswell confirmed the obvious point of origin was the flue.

There were no injuries reported.
