Fire Damages Pa. Auto Repair Shop

Inside, crews were met with heavy fire in the loft space used for the storage of tires which spread throughout the ceiling of the building.

Fire broke out in an automotive repair shop attached to a residence in the Valley Inn Area of Carroll Township on Feb. 24.

Engine Company 46, Truck Company 63 and RIT 11 responded around noon and as callers indicated a working fire with acetylene tanks and multiple vehicles in the structure.

Valley Inn Fire Department Chief Curcio assumed command and asked for forcible entry to the side A garage door and ordered an interior attack by the engine company.

Inside, crews were met with heavy fire in the loft space used for the storage of tires which spread throughout the ceiling of the building. Truck Company 63 performed vertical ventilation and the interior crews aggressively extinguished the fire.
