Cars Hits Sprinkler Valve at Ore. Business

A man was flown from the scene after his vehicle crashed into a post indicator valve in the parking lot of a Canby business on April 8.

At 7:18 a.m. Canby Fire responded to a injury accident in the parking lot of 505 NE 3rd.

The driver might have suffered had a medical emergency that caused him to accelerate across about 3,000 feet of grass before coming to rest on top of a fire sprinkler control valve.

The valve had sheer protection to prevent water from rushing out of the pipes.

Due to a traffic backup on Interstate 5, the patient was taken by Life flight to OHSU for examination.
