Three helicopters were called to transport victims from the scene of a single car crash on the Illinois Tollway in South Beloit on April 13.

Three helicopters were called to transport victims from the scene of a single car crash on the Illinois Tollway in South Beloit on April 13.

South Beloit Fire Department and Harlem Roscoe Fire Protection District were dispatched to the I-90 for a single vehicle accident involving a truck and a trailer.

Crews arrived to find the truck and trailer with heavy damage 150 feet off the road. The crash site was muddy and strewn with debris from a construction zone.

Crews from both departments worked together for over two hours to extricate three trapped patients who were transported by three trauma helicopters. The fourth patient was transported by South Beloit Fire Department to a local trauma center.
