Texas Crude Oil Tanks Burn

On April 27 at about 3:00pm, The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department responded to several crude oil tanks on fire at the 18600 block of FM 529 in Northwest Harris County, Texas.

A severe thunder storm that moved through the area caused multiple lightning strikes which sparked the blaze.

The Harris County Fire Marshal's Office investigated the fire and was told by several witnesses that there was a loud explosion after lightning had struck the storage tanks.

There were no injuries.
