Photo Story: Saint John Firefighters Tackle House Fire

Upon arrival, Saint John firefighters found fire blowing from the back of the 1 1/2-story structure and crews went to a fast attack mode.

At approximately 11:15 p.m. on May 18, the Saint John Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the corner of St John and Watson Streets on the city's west end.

Crews found fire blowing from the back of the 1 1/2-story structure. Crews went to a fast attack and found that the fire had extended up the wall into the attic.

Firefighters knocked the fire in the wall while other crews vented the roof.

Fire and heavy smoke vented through the roof and soon after attack crews were able to control the remaining fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
