A late night fire swept through three businesses on Minneapolis' University Avenue on July 31.
The blaze broke out around 11:45 p.m. and crews found smoke inside a commercial building housing an automotive repair shop, a day care business and a grocery store.
The fire quickly grew out of hand and firefighters were forced to use a defensive attack.
Aerial ladders were set up in tandem with portable master streams and hoselines to pour water into the blazing building.
As the fire grew in intensity, it threatened a 300-foot radio antenna on top of the structure.
While firefighters were evacuatign neighbors, the antenna collapse down into the building.
No injuries were reported during the three hour firefight.
