Photo Story: Pa. Units Encounter Water Supply Troubles

May 9, 2014

A two-alarm fire swept through a home in Snow Shoe on May 1.

Centre County 911 dispatched crews to Snow Shoe Township Box 605 at 3:03 p.m. for a smoke in a house.

EMS units arrived to find fire coming from the B and C sides of the home and Chief 601 struck a second alarm.

Firefighters from Engine 612 and Quint 227 made an interior attack.

Crews encountered trouble establishing a water supply. With heavy fire on the second floor, command pulled firefighters out of the structure.

A defensive attack was used until the main body of fire was darkened down.

Crews from Snow Shoe, Undine, Milesburg, Howard and Pine Glenn fire companies worked with crews from Clearfield County for two hours.
