Photo Story: Lightning Strike Sets Minn. Attic on Fire

Engine 5 found heavy fire coming from the attic of the large 2 1/2-story Tudor-style home.

For the second time in weeks, lightning struck a St. Paul home on July and St. Paul firefighters chased a stubborn blaze. 

As a storm moved through the area around 9 a.m., neighbors reported smoke and flames coming from a home Lincoln Avenue. 

Engine 5 found heavy fire coming from the attic of the large 2 1/2-story Tudor-style home. As the crew began to attack the fire, flames erupted throughout the attic.

Ladder 20's crews positioned the aerial to the roof and begin ventilation as crews stretched additional attack lines.

The fire was under control in 30 minutes.

Four engines, three trucks, two squads, two chiefs and a medic unit responded.
