Photo Story: Busy Day for Mass. Firefighters

July 27, 2014

On July 16, the firefighters of Lawrence had quite a busy tour with several fires.

While Lawrence crews were battling a second alarm, another box for a house fire came in. The deputy chief instructed fire alarm to send the covering companies, from Andover and Lowell, to the scene with Lawrence companies from the other fire scene.

On arrival Andover Engine 4 and Lowell Ladder 1 had smoke showing from three windows on the second floor of the two-story home. The occupants advised that no one was in the home.

They stretched hoselines to the top floor, vented vertically and horizontally and were able to get a quick knock.

During overhaul, a ceiling came down on a lieutenant and sent him to the hospital to be evaluated.

This was the second of three multiple alarm fires in Lawrence that day.
