A three car crash left two people trapped in Rocky Mount on Aug. 1.

Rocky Mount Fire Department  Engine 4 and Rescue 2  and Nash County EMS  responded to the 800 block of Gold Rock Road for the accident with entrapment.

A northbound vehicle collided with another and sent it into the southbound lanes. That vehicle was then struck by a third car.

A Nash County EMS unit reported two people were trapped.

Engine 4 deployed a 1 3/4-inch protection line and assisted Rescue 2 firefighters who had to cut the front passenger door of the Ford Taurus to free the driver. Crews worked on the other car to free the injured driver.

Two Nash County EMS units were now on the scene assisting firefighters and the victims.

The victims were transported to Nash County Hospital.
