Photo Story: Detroit Crews Rescue Driver After Collapse

Detroit Engine 39 reported a car through a building and that the building had collapsed on the vehicle.

At approximately 12 a.m. on Aug. 10, Detroit agencies were dispatched to a car versus building at Gladstone and Linwood.

Engine 39 reported a car through a building and that the building had collapsed on the vehicle. They notified the battalion chief and requested an additional squad for airbags, cribbing and the Jaws of Life.

Chief 5 arrived on scene and requested a third squad and an extra engine.

After an hour firefighters were able to get the man out. The man was still alive at the time EMS transported.

Units on scene: Engines 35, 39 Squads 2, 3, 4, Chief 5, Medic 1, EMS supervisor
