Photo Story: Indiana Barn Fire Spreads to Home

Aug. 24, 2014

Three fire departments battled a blaze that started in a Wayne Township barn on Aug. 16.

Wayne Township Battalion Chief 80 marked on scene of reported residence fire and advised that an attached structure was heavily involved. The barn was about 80 feet long.

Wayne Engine 82 was assigned to fire attack and Ladder 82 set up the aerial ladder while the crew performed a primary search.

Low water pressure hampered crews on the initial attack and Indianapolis Engine 18 hooked to to a second hydrant to make a water supply for Ladder 82.

A total of six engines, three ladders, one medic, a Tac unit and several fire officers responded from Wayne Township, Indianapolis and Speedway.
