Photo Story: Police Help N.J. Resident Escape Fire

Jan. 1, 2015

Police officers helped an occupant escape an early morning house fire in Highstown on Dec. 20.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. Hightstown Engine Co. #1 was dispatched to a residential structure fire with possible entrapment on Hausser Avenue.

Prior to fire companies arriving, two police officers broke a back window  and helped an occupant escape.

Fire units reported a fully involved dwelling and requested a second alarm. Due to water supply issues, tankers were requested to the scene.

Investigators believe the fire was caused by an overloaded electrical outlet.

One person was transported to Temple University Hospital, in Philadelphia, with serious burn injuries.
