Howard County firefighters called a second alarm for the house fire in Columbia.

Fire devastated an historic home in Columbia on March 2. 

Shortly after 11:30 p.m., Howard County firefighters and paramedics were alerted to a house fire on Canvasback Dr in Columbia. 

The house was once a barn located on the land purchased by the Rouse Company, which eventually become part of the planned community of Columbia.

Units found fire showing through the roof of the two-story home and a second alarm was called. 

Five adults and one child were displaced.
