Firefighters withdrew from the structure when water supply issues were encountered.

An early morning fire destroyed a home on Fort Worth's east side on Aug. 17.

Engine 5 found smoke and fire showing from the one-story home at East Hattie Street and New York Avenue around 5 a.m.

The crew deployed a hoseline to make an interior attack, but water issues forced the crew from the structure. Moments later, the home was engulfed and crews transitioned to defensive attack.

Crews from four engines, one ladder and one squad had the fire knocked down in about 20 minutes.
