Spokane firefighters battled three fires, including a multiple alarm fire, on March 31.

At 2:35 a.m., firefighters were called to a blaze at a vacant commercial building (photos seen here) on East 29th Avenue.

A third alarm was called bringing crews from Spokane Valley Fire Department and Spokane County Fire District 8 to the scene. Off-duty firefighters were called back as well.

Crews used a defensive attack on the two-story building where they operated for six hours.

Around 6 a.m. Spokane firefighters were called to a suspicious fire that damaged three garages.

A firefighter suffered minor injuries at a house fire on East Hoffman later that day.

The fire, blamed on an overloaded circuit, was placed under control in 30 minutes.
