Officials believe the fire started on a third floor deck of the Bel Air building.

One person was injured during a multiple alarm blaze on April 19 in Bel Air.

The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company were dispatched to an apartment fire with rescue at 7:05 p.m.

Engine 314, with Chief 3 Rick Davis on board, was advised there was an occupant in one of the ground floor apartments who was non-ambulatory. Several responding units reported heavy smoke showing from a distance and Chief 3-1, who was responding to the scene, requested a second alarm while enroute.

Engine 314 arrived and reported a working fire. 

The occupant of the first floor was evacuated from the building was to the hospital for evaluation.

For a brief period, firefighters were evacuated from the building due to unsafe conditions.

The fire was brought under control at approximately 7:40.

Units from Bel Air, Fallston, Abingdon. Joppa-Magnolia and Kingsville responded to fire.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating the fire, which reportedly started on the third floor rear deck of the building.
