Photos: Four Companies Battle NC Fire

Nash County firefighters found fire through the roof of the one-story home.

The Nash County 911 Center received a call for a possible structure fire in the 10000 block of NC 58 Highway in the Cooper on June 2.

Crews from Station 15 (Coopers), Station 4 (West Mount), Station 11 (Sharpsburg) and Wilson County Station 9 (Silver Lake) along with Nash EMS units were dispatched.

As companies were responding fire radio updated that they were responding to a working fire and that the occupants had exited the building with their pets.

The first-in engine company from Coopers reported a one-story home heavily involved with fire through the roof. As the other companies were responding they could see a heavy column of black smoke in the sky. 

Four attack lines were placed in service and they had the fire under control in about 25 minutes.

According to Coopers Fire Chief Chris Joyner, a 400-foot 5-inch supply line was laid from a hydrant to the scene.

The fire, which appears to have started in the kitchen, cause extensive damage.
