A second alarm was called to contain the Little Egg Harbor house fire.

Heavy smoke and fire were coming from a Little Egg Harbor home minutes after residents called 911 to report a lightning stike on July 25.

West Tuckerton firefighters arrived on Ivy Creek Drive and called for a second alarm within minutes. Firefighters from Mystic Island, Tuckerton, Parkertown andNew Gretna fire departments responded.

Firefighters stretched two 1 3/4-inch attack lines to the B and D sides of the home to protect the exposures. A deck gun was used to knock down the main body of fire and it was placed under control in an hour.

The Ocean County Fire Marshal's office was called to the scene.
