Ocala, FL (January 11, 2011) – Boston Fire Department awards two 110’ aluminum aerial ladders to E-ONE, making the new units the 11th and 12th E-ONE aerial ladders purchased by the Boston FD in the last few years.

“With well over 100 E-ONE units in service in the city, the long, proven track record of E-ONE products in the city of Boston speaks for itself,” Mark MacDonald, vice president of sales for Greenwood Emergency Vehicles said. “It’s an honor to continue working with ‘the first in the nation fire department’.”

Similar to previous orders, the aerials will be manufactured on the E-ONE Cyclone II, the industry’s strongest custom cab. The strength of the cab combined with features exclusive to the E-ONE aerial design are the reason Boston FD continues to look to E-ONE for their department’s aerial purchases.

“The 11’ jack spread available with E-ONE’s exclusive criss-cross, under-slung jacks makes it easier for Boston FD to set up in narrow city streets,” MacDonald said. “The ability to carry more than 250 feet of ground ladders and the height of the aerial handrails all the way down to the fly section are also contributing factors in the purchase of Boston’s aerials.”

The two new ladders will include the following new features: VMUX electrical control system and FireMaxx air ride suspension. The cabs will also feature E-ONE’s severe duty cab interior, perfect for departments needing extreme duty interiors due to rigorous use of the apparatus. Both units will also be equipped with G4™, E-ONE’s exclusive electronic stability control system which utilizes sensors on each wheel to constantly monitor driving conditions and, when critical lateral acceleration is detected or if the tires begin to slip, the system intervenes.
