OCALA, FLORIDA -- This week at a city council meeting, two Ocala firefighters were recognized for heroism. Earlier this year firefighters Anthony Ortiz and Eric Morton were part of a team that responded to a house fire, and under severe conditions they located and removed an elderly occupant.
During a brief ceremony Fire Chief Dan Gentry congratulated and thanked the men for their service to the department, and Christopher Kent with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company presented a Firemark Award for heroism to each firefighter.
