The Leary Firefighters Foundation Marks Year Two for TEAM LFF


October 6, 2010 - New York - The Leary Firefighters Foundation, founded by actor Denis Leary, announced today its TEAM LFF will run again in the ING New York City Marathon on November 7, 2010. Both civilians and first-responders will represent the team in one of the world's most elite sporting events.

TEAM LFF is comprised of firefighters from Connecticut, Texas, Florida and New York, and civilians from the tri-state area, California and Massachusetts. Runners include a firefighter’s daughter, a U.S. Army Ranger (retired) and an FDNY firefighter who was the frontrunner of last year’s team.

“We greatly appreciate the dedication shown by every member of TEAM LFF in running this marathon to support our cause,” said Denis Leary, President, “We help first-responders who protect us every day and I’m grateful to our runners, sponsors and supporters for their participation and generosity.”

Through its partnership with the New York Road Runners, The Foundation was awarded a limited number of guaranteed fundraising entries. The proceeds raised by team members and supporters will go to The Foundation's charitable mission of providing fire departments with the tools they need to maintain the highest level of public safety.
