OSHKOSH, Wis. (April 6, 2010) – Oshkosh Airport Products, a division of Oshkosh Corporation [NYSE: OSK], announced today the sale of four Stinger Q4™ rapid intervention vehicles (RIVs), one to each of the following airports: Anchorage International in Anchorage, Alaska; Rutland Vermont Regional Airport in North Clarendon, Vt.; Wichita Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kan.; and the Monroe County Airport in Key West; Fla. The Stinger RIV is available with exclusive Pulse Delivery® and QuadAgent® systems to meet any airport’s rapid intervention vehicle requirements.

"Airports of all types and sizes – including very large commercial operations like Anchorage International to regional hubs such as Monroe County in the Florida Keys are ordering the versatile Stinger Q4," said Jeff Resch, Oshkosh Corporation Airport Products Group vice president and general manager. "These airports realize they all need a powerful and nimble rapid intervention vehicle that can meet a variety of challenges. And, that’s what the Stinger Q4 is all about."

The Stinger Q4 offers QuadAgent and Pulse Delivery systems for unmatched firefighting power and performance. The QuadAgent system allows firefighters to easily and quickly select, right from the nozzle, any combination of four agents: water/foam, CAFS, dry chemical and clean agent – to affect the best fire fighting solution. The Pulse Delivery technology enables firefighters to deliver dry chemical powder, in a truly "dry" form, over 90 feet (27m). With this increased distance, at more than three times the current capability, standoff is significantly increased and firefighters are kept a safe distance from the fire.

"The Stinger Q4 rapid intervention vehicle features an unprecedented combination of innovative firefighting technologies in a uniquely maneuverable rapid intervention vehicle so airport firefighters can respond quicker and with more firefighting power," said Resch. "Its firefighting systems offer tremendous performance and safety benefits to our customers."

The Stinger Q4 meets Class I and II product index ratings and is engineered to deliver best-in-class performance for aircraft rescue, firefighting, hazmat and emergency response at airports of all sizes. With its smaller size and greater maneuverability, it is ideally suited for a wide range of incidents either on or around the airfield.

The Stinger Q4 is built on the Ford Super Duty F-550 chassis in either Class I or Class II configurations. Depending on the version selected, the Stinger Q4 RIV can carry 120 gal. (454 L) or 300 gal. (1136 L) of water and 500 lbs. (227 kg) of dry chemical agent and 120 lbs (54kg) of ASME clean agent.
