MEDINA, OH (April 21, 2009) Fire-Dex, one of the nation's largest firefighter turnout gear manufacturers, is once again highlighting its most comfortable product line -- FX Gear -- with the "Take the Fire-Dex Challenge" event at the Fire Department Instructor's Conference (FDIC) April 23-25 in Indianapolis, IN.

Fire-Dex is daring firefighters to "Take the Fire-Dex Challenge" for the chance to win the "Heat of the Battle II," Fire-Dex's newest custom built Orange County Choppers bike. To compete, firefighters will wear FX Gear and challenge an opponent in a one-of-a-kind firefighter-inspired obstacle course, which includes a custom-built Jacob's ladder. Firefighters visiting Fire-Dex's booth will also have the opportunity to meet OCC's Paul Teutul Sr. during an autograph session on Friday, April 24 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. and witness him riding the "Heat of the Battle II" on the tradeshow floor.

This is the second year that OCC's Teutul will be appearing on behalf of Fire-Dex at FDIC. At FDIC in 2008, over 1,000 participants took the Fire-Dex Challenge to win last year's custom bike, the "Heat of the Battle," and three sets of turnout gear autographed by the OCC founder.

"Last year's challenge was a great success for Fire-Dex. Hundreds of firefighters took part in the challenge, actively maneuvering in the FX Gear and gaining firsthand experience of its lightweight and flexibility," said Bill Burke, president of Fire-Dex. "This year in the Fire-Dex booth during FDIC, we're recreating the opportunity for firefighters to "Take the Fire-Dex Challenge" obstacle course with the FX Gear and compete to win the new "Heat of the Battle II' OCC bike and meet Paul Teutul Sr."

Commissioned to celebrate Fire-Dex's successful FX Gear, Orange County Choppers built the "Heat of the Battle II," firefighter inspired chopper for Fire-Dex to give away to a firefighter at FDIC. All active-duty firefighters attending FDIC can take the challenge and are eligible to win the custom Orange County Choppers bike.

"Take the Fire-Dex Challenge" participants who complete the obstacle course are also entered into a drawing to win an FX Gear coat autographed by Paul Teutul Sr. to take home after the show.
