St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue is proud to honor Eddie Rodriguez as the 2009 Firefighter of the Year. The 13-year veteran has been with St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue his entire career.
Rodriguez was recognized for his leadership, work ethic, and dedication to the department. The person honored with this award each year is chosen by a vote of all the past winners.
"The department members believe that Eddie's leadership sets him apart and exemplifies the qualities we seek in our firefighters," said Fire Chief James Large. "Eddie demonstrates leadership by example, has a positive attitude, and is known for treating people with respect and fairness."
