"Crunch Time", a 100% hands-on extrication class hosted by Gig Harbor (WA) Fire & Medic One has been awarded a Safe Neighbors Grant from State Farm Insurance. This is the third consecutive year "Crunch Time" has been awarded this grant. The $6,000.00 Safe Neighbors Grant goes toward tuition scholarships, equipment purchasing and machinery entanglement training props. Over the past five years, State farm Insurance also has donated more than sixty totaled vehicles to "Crunch Time" including a 2004 Toyota Prius that has been utilized as a cut-a-way prop showing the workings and components of a hybrid vehicle. "Crunch Time" is held every September and our goal is to provide a safe and challenging learning environment with plenty of tool time.
