GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO – Incident Response Technologies, a leading provider of cloud-based incident management solutions, announced today that the Rhodium™ Incident Management Suite was utilized in the management of the first 2012 Presidential Debate security response which occurred at the University of Denver on October 3rd, 2012.
The debate was the first time during the campaign that President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney met face to face. Having both candidates in the same location required additional security precautions and considerations.
Leading up to the event, the Denver Police Department was faced with organizing several hundred officers, coordinating an extensive security perimeter, and planning several motorcade routes for the two candidates. Rhodium Suite allowed this information to be digitalized, and accessed from a number of devices including computers and tablets.
Rhodium Suite proved beneficial in tracking the status of resources, and monitoring the route of a peaceful protest march. The system also provided near real-time traffic data along the motorcade routes, allowing law enforcement to view the effects of road closures as they occurred.
Fortunately, some of Rhodium Suite’s more advanced tools were not required. However, had an incident occurred, the staff of the Unified Command Center had the capability to immediately calculate and display evacuation areas, view current weather information, and access critical reference materials.
