Kovatch Mobile Equipment (KME) has recently received apparatus orders from two entities in Hawaii.
Through KME’s dealer, Hawaii Specialty Vehicles LLC, the company has an order from the City and County of Honolulu for five custom pumpers and a 100-foot tractor-drawn aerial.
In addition, KME has received, through the same dealership, an order for two pumpers to be put in service with the County of Hawai`i.
The order going to Honolulu calls for the pumpers to be built on KME Predator Severe Service cabs and chassis with seating for five and EMS boxes. They’ll be powered by 500 hp engines, and equipped with 2,000-gpm pumps, Waterous Eclipse CAFS, 7,500-watt generators, 750-gallon water tanks and 40-gallon foam cells.
The aerial will also be based on a Severe Service cab and chassis, and have a 10,000-watt generator, a 101-foot ladder with a waterway.
The two custom pumpers going to the Hawai`i Fire Department will both be built on KME Predator Severe Service cabs and chassis with seating for five, have 500-hp engines, 1,500-gallon pumps, 1,000-gallon water tanks, dual 25-gallon foam tanks with Class A and B foam systems. They will have 158-inch aluminum full height/split depth bodies.
