Kovatch Mobile Equipment (KME) has recently received apparatus orders from two entities in Hawaii.

Through KME’s dealer, Hawaii Specialty Vehicles LLC, the company has an order from the City and County of Honolulu for five custom pumpers and a 100-foot tractor-drawn aerial.

In addition, KME has received, through the same dealership, an order for two pumpers to be put in service with the County of Hawai`i.

The order going to Honolulu calls for the pumpers to be built on KME Predator Severe Service cabs and chassis with seating for five and EMS boxes. They’ll be powered by 500 hp engines, and equipped with 2,000-gpm pumps, Waterous Eclipse CAFS, 7,500-watt generators, 750-gallon water tanks and 40-gallon foam cells.

The aerial will also be based on a Severe Service cab and chassis, and have a 10,000-watt generator, a 101-foot ladder with a waterway.

The two custom pumpers going to the Hawai`i Fire Department will both be built on KME Predator Severe Service cabs and chassis with seating for five, have 500-hp engines, 1,500-gallon pumps, 1,000-gallon water tanks, dual 25-gallon foam tanks with Class A and B foam systems. They will have 158-inch aluminum full height/split depth bodies.

Of the sale to Honolulu, Nathan Reyes, dealer principal at Hawaii Specialty Vehicles, said; “We appreciate the hard work KME put into the bidding process. We are thankful for the City and County of Honolulu and the Honolulu Fire Department for giving us the opportunity to provide our products and services. Both HSV and KME are committed to providing superior service and quality products. We strive to accomplish this through these virtues; pono (goodness), malama (nurturing), and hilina'i (trust) in our company. Mahalo Ke Akua (Thank you Lord).”

Of the sale to Hawai`I, Reyes said; “We are pleased to welcome Fire Chief Darren Rosario and the Hawai`i Fire Department to the HSV and KME family. We are committed to custom manufacturing units that meet the unique needs of each customer and supporting those vehicles for their in service life.”
