INDIANAPOLIS, April 9, 2014 – Spartan ERV (Emergency Response Vehicles), a business unit of Spartan Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAR), announced today that it has completed delivery of 12 units, including a 136-foot TelStar, to Celulosa Arauco y Constitucion (Arauco) in Santiago, Chile. The announcement was made in conjunction with FEREXPO S.A. the authorized Spartan ERV dealer in Chile prior to the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis.

The delivery encompasses six product classes including the TelStar, an industry-leading aerial apparatus featuring a 136-foot telescopic and articulated aerial platform capable of an “up, over and down” range of motion to navigate around parapets for roof rescues, clear power lines and trees for access and provide for below grade rescues. The TelStar apparatus is a product of Spartan-Gimaex Innovations, LLC, the Company’s joint venture with French apparatus manufacturer Gimaex.
The delivery to Arauco also includes five Star Series pumpers equipped with the Spartan ERV Boomer™, the first-of-its kind crossover rescue that combines five separate emergency rescue functions into a single device that is more versatile, less costly and more compact.”
