Brian Dale Appointed New Chief of Salt Lake City FD

The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch® (IAED) announces that Brian Dale, Chair of the Academy’s ED-Q Board of Curriculum and former longtime Chair of the IAED Board of Accreditation, was appointed the new Chief of the Salt Lake City Fire Dept.

SALT LAKE CITY—The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch® (IAED) is pleased to announce that Brian Dale, Chair of the Academy’s ED-Q Board of Curriculum and former longtime Chair of the IAED Board of Accreditation, was appointed the new Chief of the Salt Lake City Fire Department (SLCFD) on May 4.

Dale has served with the SLCFD in Salt Lake City, Utah, for more than 25 years, and since 2009 was its Deputy Chief of its Administrative Services Bureau under former Chief Kurt Cook.

“Our community is very fortunate to have one of the premier fire departments in the country and a team of leaders that is second to none,” said Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker. “I’m proud to appoint Brian Dale as our next Fire Chief. Brian brings a stellar body of experience and knowledge to this important post and I know he will serve our residents very well.”


Formal approval of Dale’s appointment now moves to the Salt Lake City Council.
