An FDNY firefighter was seriously injured in a wreck after suffering a seizure behind the wheel of a ladder truck in Brooklyn on Wednesday night.

Oct. 18 -- A city firefighter suffered an apparent seizure behind the wheel of a ladder truck in Brooklyn Wednesday night, slamming into several parked cars, police sources said.

FDNY Ladder 120 went off the road at St. Mark’s Ave. and East New York Ave. in Brownsville just before 6:15 p.m., sparking a chain reaction that damaged at least 10 parked vehicles.

The impact stacked an SUV atop another car, which was shoved into a third.

Medics took the driver and five firefighters to Brookdale University Hospital with unspecified injuries, FDNY officials said. An FDNY spokesman had no additional info on the condition of the ladder truck’s driver, and said the crash remained under investigation.

The driver remains in serious condition with non life-threatening injuries, an FDNY source said. He’s being evaluated to determine if he had a medical episode at the wheel, the source said.

“They took him out right away and put him on a stretcher. He was shaking like he had a seizure,” said Rafael Sanchez, 62, who witnessed the crash.

At first, he said, it looked like the ladder truck was trying to weave through traffic at a green light and lost control, Sanchez said. The truck hit the first car, an SUV, and sent it flying.

“The first car he hit went up in the air and landed on the second row of cars,” Sanchez said. “It was like a row of dominoes, a slow loud rumble.”
