Man Jailed for Blaze Killing Phoenix Firefighter

A man convicted of starting a blaze that killed a Phoenix firefighter in 2001 was sentenced to seven years in prison on Friday, according to KSAZ-TV.Christopher Benitez faced up to 37 years after a jury convicted him of negligent homicide and arson in a supermarket fire that killed Firefighter Bret Tarver.Benitez allegedly lit cardboard boxes, which started a fire that quickly spread through the building's attic.
