The city of Lindsay is considering a transition from a public safety department to separate agencies with the goal to build a strong volunteer fire department.
 
Multiple fire departments were needed to contain a fire that engulfed a building at the Bluenose Inn in Bar Harbor that was closed for the winter.
 
Three fire departments are constructing the new training tower in Walla Walla to allow for live fire training and other scenarios.
