Wash. Battalion Chief Died of Heart Disease

-- June 14--WENATCHEE -- The 38-year-old firefighter who collapsed at his Wenatchee home on Sunday died from natural causes. Wayne Harris, Chelan County coroner, said an autopsy on Monday determined that Capt. Garet G. Rasmussen died from hypertensive and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Rasmussen was a captain with Chelan County Fire District 1. Harris said Rasmussen died shortly after coming home after an emergency call. He was still on-call when he died.

June 14--WENATCHEE -- The 38-year-old firefighter who collapsed at his Wenatchee home on Sunday died from natural causes.

Wayne Harris, Chelan County coroner, said an autopsy on Monday determined that Capt. Garet G. Rasmussen died from hypertensive and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Rasmussen was a captain with Chelan County Fire District 1. Harris said Rasmussen died shortly after coming home after an emergency call. He was still on-call when he died.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Town Toyota Center, 1300 Walla Walla Ave. Rasmussen is survived by his wife, Allyson Rasmussen, and two children, Jostin and Jalyn, all of the family home.
