An Indianapolis battalion chief died at his home on Feb. 1 hours after finishing a shift, according to the USFA.

Battalion Chief Steve Auch, 56, was found dead at approximately 2:47 p.m. following a shift that included responses to emergency incidents.

The cause of his death has yet to be determined.
