Three firefighters were injured when a Shepherdsville quint rolled over while responding to a fire call on Monday afternoon.

The firefighters aboard Quint 1 suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Deputy Chief Terry L. Whittaker. They were responding to a fire outside of a business.

The wreck happened at the intersection of I65 and Cedar Grove Rd around 4:30 p.m. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

One firefighter was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital by Bullitt County EMS while the other two were transported by personal vehicle.

Whittaker said one firefighter suffered an ankle injury that will require surgery.

"We were also fortunate that we were able to divert an engine company to the fire at Zappos," Whittaker said. "They were able to extinguish that fire while everyone else was addressing the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Shepherdsville Police Department.
