Ohio Woman Charged for Shooting at Firefighters

June 17, 2014
The woman faces four charges for attempts to block Marion firefighters from dousing an outside fire.

The woman who fired a gun at two Marion firefighters over the weekend is facing several charges.

The Marion Star reported that Sheila Markley has been charged with misconduct at an emergency, pointing and discharging a firearm, felonious assault and aggravated menacing.

Three times while firefighters tried to extinguish the fire, she stepped into the stream from the hoseline, Fire Capt. Chuck Deem said.

She told them she was cooking breakfast, but investigators believe she was burning a playpen.

Officials believe they found the bullet she fired in a neighbor's home.
