S.C. Firefighters Pull Children from Trench

The two were became wedged in the trench in Irmo.

Two fire departments teamed up to rescue two children who fell into a trench in Irmo Monday night. 

The incident happened on private property of Hollingshed Road and left the two wedged in a trench that was four to five feet deep.

Columbia firefighters were called to assist and with removing the two children.

Fire officials said they two suffered minor injuries and Richland County EMS transported them to the hospital for further evaluation.
