A semi-truck crashed into a canal and caught on fire on Florida's Turnpike near Boynton Beach Wednesday morning, sending one person to a trauma center, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue reports.
The crash happened at about 9:45 a.m. on the northbound lanes, north of Boynton Beach Boulevard. Upon arriving at the scene, rescue crews found the truck in the canal partially submerged and fully involved, Fire Rescue spokesman Luis Hormilla said.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and transported one patient. Information regarding the extent of that person's injuries was not disclosed.
