Fire Strikes Mass. Home for Second Time

For the second time in less than a year, Leominster firefighters were called to a fire in a vacant home on Nov. 3.

The fire at 9 Glenwood Dr. was reported around 12:15 a.m. Engine 2 reported smoke showing before they were on scene. The deputy chief arrived to find fire showing from both levels of the two-story split-level dwelling.

Firefighters opened ventilated the structure and used handlines to bring the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

A rapid intervention team responded from Fitchburg. Firefighters from Lancaster, Lunenburg and Sterling responded to cover empty stations.
