This monitoring station overlooking the north shore of Lake Tahoe is one of many designed, built and maintained by the Nevada Seismological Lab at the University of Nevada, Reno. The network of fire cameras, seismometers and hazard monitoring equipment spans from Lake Tahoe throughout northern Nevada, and in California along the eastern Sierra Nevada and Death Valley.
The University of Nevada, Reno's AlertTahoe mountaintop fire camera system has added another level of protection in keeping Tahoe-area residents safe from fires.
