Jeff Holloway started his fire service career in 1978 at the Pantego, TX, Fire Department. In 1980, he joined the Arlington, TX, Fire Department and was promoted through the ranks to Deputy Chief while serving in the Operations Division. He retired in 2017. He graduated from Tarrant County College (TCC) with an associate's degree in Fire Protection in 1987. He teaches at TCC.
