A Detroit faces suspension after he was allegedly intoxicated while heading to an emergency and struck an unoccupied vehicle with the apparatus he was driving.

The incident happened Sunday as firefighters were attending a dinner party at Engine 50, WXYZ-TV reports. Fire Commissioner Eric Jones told the news outlet that a call had come in that required the attention of Squad 6.

While responding to the emergency, a Squad 6 apparatus struck a vehicle, and the firefighter who was driving the rig was given a drug and alcohol test as part of department protocol following the crash. The test found that the firefighter was over the legal alcohol limit, and he was suspended.

The incident is still under investigation.
