Charles Wagner is a peer in the Counseling Service Unit of the FDNY. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Fordham University and a master's degree in fire science from the University of New Haven. Wagner retired from the fire service after 34 years. During his career at the FDNY, he served on Ladder 120, Ladder 4, Ladder 154, Rescue 4 and the Bureau of Fire Investigation, among others.
