Firefighters with the Fame Fire Co. No 3, in West Chester, PA, has purchased a Custom Fire Apparatus heavy rescue. The unit is built on a Spartan Gladiator cab and chassis powered by a Cummins engine and an Allison transmission. The rescue body features rear-entry doors, concealed bolted construction, under body stainless steel subframe, stainless steel construction and roll-up compartment doors. It also features a front-bumper extension with winch, driver and passenger side winch receivers, encapsulated roll-up door protection, adjustable compartment shelving, roll-out trays, roll-out hydraulic hose reel carriages, roll-out tip-down compartment trays, pull-out tool boards, air hose reels, roll-out encapsulated hose roller brackets, wheel-well SCBA cylinder extinguisher storage, SCBA seating in crew area, on-board air compressor and battery charger, power rewind electric cord reels. Other equipment include the Whelen siren, lightbar, warning lights and Fire Research Corp. scene lights.
