Apparatus - Apparatus Showcase: Type 1 Engine Delivered to West Douglas, Colo.

West Douglas Fire Rescue purchased a Rosenbauer Timberwolf 4x4 CAFS Wildland Interface Engine to meet the needs of the Fire District.

With two major rail lines, a state highway, light industry including a five-million bitumen tank, residential, recreation and National Forest, West Douglas needed a multi-purpose engine that would provide ISO credit and provide structure and wildland fire protection to 53 square miles.

The Engine includes 1,000 GPM rear mount PTO pump, 750 gallons of water, 30 gallons of Class A Foam, CAFS, front bumper turret, spray bars, booster line, 1,000 feet of 5-inch hose, 500 feet of 2.5-inch hose, 3,000-watt generator, 12-volt scene light, rescue body compartments with drop down steps and a ladder rack that holds hard suction, ladders and pike poles.

The pump compartment is fully enclosed with a heater for winter operations.
