Bellefonte, Pa., Gets New 79-Foot Aerial
May 29, 2014

The members of the Undine Fire Company, Station 2, in Bellefonte, have taken delivery of a 79-foot quint built by KME. It's powered by a Cummins engine and an Allison transmission. To fight fire, it has a Hale pump and a 500-gallon water tank. It's also equipped with a 79-foot aerial with an unrestricted 750-pound tip load dry and a 500-pound load flowing 1,500 gpm through the waterway.

The firefighters say it's a perfect apparatus for their coverage area with tight streets and limited access. Firefighters say the aerial's overall length is not much longer than it's newest engine.
